Apple’s iOS 16 unveiled will have a new feature called ‘Safety Check’ to help people in abusive relationships by revoking shared device access with their partners.
It’ll stop location sharing, reset privacy settings and protect messages from the abusive partner.
Apple unveiled updates to the ‘My Home’ app and a new protocol for smart home devices called ‘Matter’.
The updates for iOS 16, iPadOS, WatchOS and macOS, code-named Ventura, are available to developers first before launching as a public beta next month. The system updates will launch more widely this fall.
Most notable for iPhone fans is the introduction of customizable lock screens capable of not only showing personalized clocks but also widgets including weather, activity and other data.
The time can also be displayed in the background to prevent hiding photos used for lock screens.
